Hakka is the one of the ethnic groups in Taiwan. The traditional type of Hakka house - 夥房(Huo Fang) deeply effect their lifestyle. However, this kind of traditional architecture needs more attention on protecting them, especially after 21th September 1999 earthquake. The traditional Hakka delicacy also have their own special recipe and preserve methods.

 

The story of this illustration book used my memory on the day of the Chinese New Year in my childhood as the background. It described the traditional Hakka people's life. For me, the 夥房(Huo Fang) maybe merely a short memory in my mind. However, it is the most important residence for elders. I hope that I can use my way to keep the record between 夥房(Huo Fang) and the Hakka people before every 夥房(Huo Fang) dissapear.
